1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Metro Diaries ("the Service"), operated at metrodiaries.in, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Metro Diaries is a platform that helps Delhi Metro commuters find travel routes and connect with co-travelers heading the same way. The Service includes route planning, trip posting, user matching, in-app messaging, push notifications, a community blog, and identity verification.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Metro Diaries. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. User Accounts

• You sign in using your Google account.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information in your profile.
• Your name, date of birth, and gender are permanently locked after completing onboarding to maintain trust on the platform. To correct these fields, contact us at support@metrodiaries.in.
• Do not share your account or let others access it on your behalf.

5. Usage Limits

To ensure fair use and protect the platform, the following limits apply:

• Messages are limited to 500 characters each.
• You may upload up to 5 gallery photos on your profile.
• Bio is limited to 100 characters; about me to 500 characters.
• Certain actions are rate-limited to prevent abuse (e.g., search, profile updates, trip creation). Exceeding these limits will result in a temporary cooldown.

6. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent trip information
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Use the platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Spam, solicit, or send unsolicited messages to other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
• Use the Service to meet people for purposes unrelated to metro travel
• Share another user's personal information without their consent

7. Identity Verification

Metro Diaries offers optional identity verification through Aadhaar, reviewed manually by our team. Verification is voluntary but recommended. Your Aadhaar number is not stored after review — only your verification status is retained. While we make efforts to verify user identities, we cannot guarantee that every user is who they claim to be. Please exercise your own judgment when meeting co-travelers.

8. Safety Disclaimer

Metro Diaries is a platform that connects commuters. We do not guarantee the safety of any interaction between users. When meeting co-travelers:

• Meet only in public areas within the metro system
• Share your travel plans with a friend or family member
• Trust your instincts — if something feels off, leave
• Report any inappropriate behavior immediately

9. Content & Intellectual Property

Content you post on Metro Diaries (trip details, messages, profile information) remains yours. By posting, you grant Metro Diaries a non-exclusive license to display this content as part of the Service.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in harmful behavior, or for any reason at our discretion. You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us at support@metrodiaries.in.

11. Limitation of Liability

Metro Diaries is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to interactions with other users, route accuracy, or service availability. Metro route information is provided for convenience and may not always reflect real-time conditions.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify users of significant changes.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India.
